EMERGENCY INSTRUCTIONS
- In case of power failure, the lift will stop with a slight jolt
- The emergency lights of the lift will be working
- Be Patient : You are in a safe lift
- The lift will start automatically in a few seconds. Within 2 minutes the lift will reach its destination and the doors will open automatically
- Do not tamper the lift doors, it is dangerous and will interrupt the security system.
If the lift does not start, please do the following
- Press the emergency alarm button
- Call emergency numbers

SIMPLE DO’S & DON’TS
FOR A HASSLE FREE ELEVATOR EXPERIENCE
DO’S
- ENTER the elevator only after the doors are completely open.
- GENTLY push the destination button with your finger than a pen or any other poky object.
- SEEK assistance when moving some household items.
- Have the Elevator lobby well-lit to prevent tripping.
- Share ride safely. PRESS your floor button, make room for others.
- Keep WATER or Liquids away from the Elevator, especially the doors or the Cabin. Spills can lead to costly cleaning and repairs.
DON’TS
- Don’t stand in between the doors, this delays the Elevator from serving others.
- JUMPING or DANCING in a moving elevator could trigger the safety brakes and cause entrapment.
- Avoid using objects to keep the doors open.
- LOADING goods into a passenger elevator is unsafe, this can cause damage and disrupt the Elevator's balance & performance.

EMERGENCY RESCUE PROCEDURE: MRL ELEVATORS
SCOPE: TO BE PERFORMED ONLY BY TRAINED PERSONNEL TO SAFELY EVACUATE TRAPPED PASSENGERS.
1. Initial Assessment & Power Safety
- 1. Initial Reset Attempt: Turn the elevator power OFF, wait one minute, and turn it back ON. Press the Landing Operating Button (LOP) to see if the lift resumes normal operation.
- 2. Emergency Power Cut: If the lift remains stuck, switch OFF the main power supply at the MCB, located on the top floor or the building’s main power room, to prevent accidental movement during rescue.
- 3. Locate the Car: Identify the car’s position by checking the floor indicator on the controller or visually inspecting the shaft from the nearest landing.
2. Passenger Communication
- Use the intercom at the main control panel, top floor, a mobile phone, or speak directly through the landing doors to reassure passengers.

3. Bringing the Car to Floor Level
- Access the elevator control panel on the top floor using the controller key. Choose one of the two following methods:
Option A: Electrical Rescue
Emergency Battery Drive
- 1. Activate: Turn the rescue switch on the controller to the ‘ON’ or ‘RESCUE’ position.
- 2. Move Car: Press and hold the Green + UP or Green + DOWN buttons together.
- 3. Level: Hold until the “At Floor” or “Level” indicator lights up.
- 4. Secure: After evacuation, turn the rescue switch back to ‘NORMAL’ or ‘OFF’.
Option B: Manual Rescue
Brake Release Lever
- 1. Locate Lever: Use the brake release handle, typically red, attached to or near the machine.
- 2. Intermittent Pressure: DO NOT HOLD THE BRAKE OPEN. Pull the lever in short, controlled bursts to “inch” the car to the nearest floor.
- 3. Stop: Release the lever once the car is at floor level, 50mm – 2 inches / 100mm – 4 inches, to lock the brake.
- 4. Secure: After evacuation, turn the rescue switch back to ‘NORMAL’ or ‘OFF’.
4. Passenger Evacuation
- 1. Verify Leveling: Confirm the car is within the leveling zone, +/- 50 mm to +/- 100 mm, before opening doors to avoid fall hazards.
- 2. Open Doors: Use the Emergency Key to release the door mechanism. Manually open both the outer, landing, and inner, car, doors.
- 3. Safe Exit: Ensure the car is level, +/- 50 mm to +/- 100 mm, and assist passengers so they do not trip or fall.
5. Post-Rescue Actions
- Secure the Unit: Close all doors.
- Maintenance Required: Do not return the lift to service.
- Inform the elevator office to conduct a thorough technical check.
